Jubilation
The scene on the Saints fan side of Bar None as Garrett Hartley's kick sailed through the uprights, along with a few minutes of post-victory celebration. At about the 8:50 mark, I'm the guy leading the second line with a big black Saints umbrella, though I'm not really all that visible because of the crowd. Good times. More than 24 hours have passed and I still find myself breaking out in spontaneous tears of joy.
Also, at around the 7:30 mark, you can hear the guy recording the video get into a brief conversation with some of the Vikings fans at the bar who'd come over to our side to congratulate us. They were all extremely classy in defeat.

Bless you and all the Saints AND Vikings fans at Bar None. That was one helluva game. Nothing came easy. Now it's up to the Saints to leave it all on the field in 2 weeks and come up with the Lombardi trophy that Drew Brees can carry with him as Bacchus in the parade on Sunday before Mardi Gras.
Wow. Just WOW.
Thanks for posting this. As the game wound down I remember thinking "Hmmm, I hope there's no blood shed at Bar None." Irrepairably cynical I am.
And as an aside this game has really fucked up my metaphysical (or lack thereof) world view. I'd like to see a Nate Silver like analysis of the likelihood of a team losing 5 of 8 fumbles/interceptions AND losing the coin toss to start overtime.
I haven't figured out how to explain the hastily constructed Marie Leveaux shrine in my living room to my friends.

That was beautiful! Y'all sure know how to Be a New Orleanian Where Ever You Go!
Great Saints tunes - I'm going to set up my iPod to get the mood going.
I, too, received congratulations from Vikings fans I twitter and email with - classy, that.

I love this video of the Bourbon St flash mob after the game-winning kick. http://videos.nola.com/times-picayune/2010/01/saints_video_bourbon_street.html
I think everyone, everywhere simply ran into the streets, shrieking with joy.
That made me tear up a bit. Who Dat!
I think I've watched the Hartley kick 50 times since leaving the Superdome. I still don't think it's set in. Our boys are going to the Super Bowl. Good. LORD.
I assume you know you made it onto nola.com tonight?
A friend who was at the game said the Vikings fans around them told them that they've never had so much fun losing a game.
So Cajun Boy, are you heading to New Orleans for the game? Lots of ex-pats are.
Beth at 2:35 - glad I'm seeing one of my favorite blog commenters over here, too - I "know" you from the Althouse blog and love your stuff.
Oh happy days!
Not a big football fan here, husband & son are though so I'm usually around a game on Sundays. When the Saints won all I could think of was you (okay and Kim Kardashian) "Wow, this dude I read on the internet is going to be crapping cupcakes" were my exact words - Congratulations!
ritamac, thanks! I'll keep an eye for you over at that other spot.
Geaux Saints!
Who Dat!
Saints fans beware...there may be a plague after your team.
