The musings, observations, stories and introspection of a simple boy from the bayous of Louisiana turned Manhattanite.

I don't think I've really felt that the 2009 Saints were "for real" until last night. I can hardly believe this is happening, but am having a hell of a lot of fun riding this wave. WHO DAT!!!

Your team was clearly the better one last night. Tough and near-perfect execution. Enjoy the ride.

Too bad you aren't here to witness the Saints madness--people are losing their shit! Every vehicle is tricked out in Saints merchandise. Every man, woman, child, and pet is sporting Saints apparel. Every business is putting up Saints decorations along with their Christmas decorations. My husband left work early yesterday because he "felt a black and gold fever coming on." Even the Causeway Bridge has changed the "Click It or Ticket" display on its LED sign to a variety of Saints cheers. The energy and atmosphere are impossibly contagious! I LOVE living in a place where people know how to celebrate and get fired up. Makes those potholes, malfunctioning drawbridges, devastating hurricanes, and crooked politicians just about worth it.
Who dat indeed.
"Every man a king."
Looking at Saints remaining schedule I think they go undefeated regular season. Great story for the crescent city.

Yeah you right, Cajun Boy. Who dat!
Louisiana is on cloud nine. Talk about a way to raise spirits!!! It was like watching a ballet last night, not football.
My husband and I are coming to NYC this week from Lafayette. As a die-hard fan I can't miss the game, so we'll be joining my NYC transplant friends from Breaux Bridge at Bar None to root for the home team!
This was the first Saints game that I had the chance to watch this season and I was blowed away. They played brilliantly! Every team deserves at least one season like this one. The Saints have been waiting a long time.
Mindy's right - it's crazy here. As another Cajun Boy who's spent time in the big city, I know how you feel. I spent the majority of the 2006 season in Los Angeles, and I think the people there got a kick out of my excitement about the Saints. N.O. fans have every right to be jaded from years of disappointment, but instead they rally around the team year in and year out. All we need down in La Louisianne is a bit of hope from time to time, and the Saints are making us think anything is possible. Wow!
I've always been a Saints fan, but after the "Miles Meltdown in Mississippi", I turned all my attention to the Saints to make me feel better! I am so thrilled for those guys, and for the people of my hometown!!
I've already got freinds booking hotels in Miami...WHO DAT?!
I'm with ya on that one!! We could not have asked for a better game!! Wow...I was truly impressed....and thinking...."is this really happpening?" all at the same time! Geaux Saints Geaux! miss ya my friend!
I have suffered the ups and downs with this organization for 42 years....and I still haven't forgiven Tom Benson for his post-katrina antics...
am really tempted to take time off the entire week before endymion to be in New Orleans for Super Bowl Sunday!!!! or else come up and join you at the NYC Saints bar...
12 and OH HO HO Baby!!!!
They just did it again. What a game?
I remember fondly from my youth the games in the 'dome - not so fondly, the fans with bags on their heads. The ain'ts no more. I can't wait for the playoffs!
P.S. Where's your Tebow post re: last night's game?
