Utter Astonishment

I’m struggling desperately today to figure out what I find more baffling and appalling: That the same crowd who’ve spent months accusing Barack Obama of being a closet Muslim, a racist, a kid-indoctrinating communist, a secret citizen of Kenya, and a Hitler wannabe who seeks to nationalize health care so that he can murder whoever he believes to be an undesirable, turns around and professes righteous outrage over Obama using a menial administration post to appoint someone they deemed to be an “extremist” because he had the audacity to call Republicans “assholes” in public and sign an online petition 6 years ago that called for an investigation into whether or not the Bush administration had knowledge of Bin Laden’s 9/11 plot prior to 9/11, or the fact that Obama failed to show any semblance of a political spine and actually caved to these moronic assholes by sending the aforementioned “extremist” to the proverbial glue factory.

Sometimes, I just want to pack my bags and move away to an island somewhere to escape the deafening noise that is this country’s Herculean idiocy. This is one of those times.

Now you know how I felt when Trent Lott was forced to step down as Majority Leader for saying something nice about an old man at his birthday party.

Wait, that's it? I thought this guy was one of those "9/11 truther" folks.

It's all this PC squishy feelings b.s. - I say forget that crap and bring the paddle back! Ironic that people who send their kids to public schools think the government has no say so in what they learn. If people REALLY feel that way then they should home school their children.

"mom" expressed my sentiments exactly--we're about to hear from those selfsame freaks "keep the gub'ment outta our schools!". so keep your kids home and don't let them return--can't be any worse than the backwoods way you're choosing to raise them in the first place. as far as i know, we haven't yet outlawed ignorance here, but the safety net of our prison industrial complex should provide a nice safety net for your progeny.

as much as i believe progressive ideas should prevail, progressives do need to grow a pair, and to ignore the morons who don't understand terms like "fascist", "communist", "nazi", "socialist", yet throw them around like so many frisbees.

don't pack your bags yet, c.b.--let tx secede once and for all. it would be a fine start.

I believe there was a tad more to Van Jones than using "assholes" in speech. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I have been struggling, struggling, to understand that Republicans are anything but a-holes.

Their recent behavior makes me embarrassed for them. Uncomfortable to say the least.

BTW I agree with anon that O needs to grow a pair.

Republicans are smegma under the foreskin of the American cock.

Cajun, you know I love you to death, but really?

I'm not saying what the green czar said or signed on to(see I already forgot his name) was so bad. It just had a bad perception. In politics, perception is reality - which is why Obama during his campaign had a stranglehold on perception.

For whatever reason, Team O has not kept their eye on the perception of their appointees and various legislation, like healthcare.
