Settle the hell down idiots, settle the hell down, or how many mouthpieces for the right-wing actually served a day in the US military?
Occasionally, just because I love to torture myself, I listen in to right-wing radio. Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin and the like. It always helps to know what these people are saying, because what they say inevitably drives the actions and rhetoric of Republican political leaders.
So today they're all worked up into a frothy lather over two things, the first being that Obama's new budget is "gutting" the US military. Here's the truth...the amount of money we're set to spend on the military will increase by 4% in the Obama budget, but that's down from the 15% annually it had been growing under the previous administration, thus, in their warped minds, the military is being gutted and America is now free to be ass-raped by the terrorists. Mind you, this military spending program was spearheaded under Defense Secretary Robert Gates, a man who has spent his life working in the intelligence/defense fields, and a man who believes that he can streamline the nation's military, and frankly I have a lot of faith in his decision-making. He was also, as you may recall, appointed by President Bush! But the idiot mouthpieces for the right are already claiming that Obama and Gates are leaving us vulnerable because they hate America and now Iran and North Korea are going to nuke us with long-range missiles and we'll be helpless to do anything about it. As I write this, the guy sitting in for Mark Levin on his show while he celebrates the Jewish holiday, Tom something or other, is playing a clip from the movie Patton because Mark Levin loves that movie so much and that just shows how much of a patriot he is. Yeah.
Now, chew on this for a second. How many of the mouthpieces for the right do you think ever served a day in the US military?
Rush Limbaugh...No.
Bill O'Reilly...No.
Sean Hannity...No.
Mark Levin...No.
Glenn Beck...No.
Bill Bennett...No.
Dick Cheney...No.
Newt Gingrich...No.
Karl Rove...No.
Do I need to continue? Because I could go on and fucking on. Not a single one of these fucks served a single day in uniform for this country, but they're the ones who cloak themselves in patriotism at every opportunity, and these very people will be the ones ranting all over the place, as they have been already, that Obama and Gates are destroying the military. It's disgraceful. And frankly it pisses me the fuck off.
Now, here's the other thing that the wingnuts are going bananas over today...that Obama had the audacity to bow when he met the Saudi king. They are all up in arms that Obama showed this sort of deference to a "tyrant" who rules over the country "where all the 9/11 bombers came from.
What's comical about this is that they seem to have forgotten that President Bush used to hold hands with the guy, AND kiss him on the lips, just like those awful gays do...

For all we know, Bush might have jerked him off for some oil when the cameras weren't around. I'll take a president who bows to the fucker, thank you very much.

A respectful bow might be OK, but Americans are supposed to be exempt from bowing, and genuflecting and curtseying to royalty.
Alright, I watched the video clip and paused it at the moment of the "dip." An anonymous Obama spokesperson said he did not bow but simply took the king's hand in both of his,and that Obama is taller and bent down.
Well, the clip clearly shows that he reached out with his right hand only, and kept his left near his body. BUT...I am pretty sure that Moslems would not use the left hand to greet one another as they consider reaching out with the left hand to be insulting. It is not the clean hand.
Obama, spending his formative years in Indonesia, would no doubt know that.
I say we leave Obama alone. Maybe he knows what he's doing.
As for Michelle touching the queen, she's too stuffy anyway.
You go, girl!
The other thing is that these right-wing, non-service "military expert" types don't want to serve in the military and they don't want the gays to serve either. How fucked up is that? Rush Limbaugh was exempted from service in Vietnam because he had a boil on his ass. This lame, homophobic, personnel policy is really hurting the military. I am a gay male and I served --honorably-- in the U.S. Army. I've been decorated for bravery. And I wasn't alone -- I had lots of gay sex in the Army. I've given more than my share of blowjobs, ass poundings, and reach-arounds in the barracks and in the field. I was in Joint Task Force 160 and I am proud to say I had gay sex while I was at GITMO. And I've been in combat, getting hazardous duty pay. I still have gay friends in the military (I even know a gay Arabic linguist who could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch). I can't figure out why Mitt Romney's wholesome pretty-boys aren't enlisting, especially since they say they don't want the gays to serve. Levi Johnston could enlist (he is unemployed and needs work). The Bush twins could sign up. They are what we call "yellow elephants."
We still spend more than the rest of the WORLD combined on our military and what do we have to show for it? No Osama and Al Queda/Taliban still alive in Pakistan.
I enjoyed this. Thanks for posting. Do you know about this? If not, check it out.

Why should Obama not bow to the Saudi King, if that is the common greeting in Saudi Arabia? Why should he not bow to the Japanese, shake hands with the British, or kiss the cheek of the Italians? When you're a guest in another country, no matter how big or powerful your country may be, it's polite to show deference to their customs, especially greetings.
I wrote a similar blog post yesterday, though much more vague in my anger towards the right wing media.
Thank you for this.
I am so fukkin' over these chickenhawks/yellow elephants/goddamn hypocrites.
I am so fukkin’ over their ability to eliminate the last eight years of complete fuck-ups that they implemented and cheered on.
Part of me, the reasonable part, is glad they are out there, just so I can recognize the idiocy of the far-right.
But part of me wants to give them the failure drill. (Two in the chest, one in the head, just to be sure.)
Ohhh...
Defense is only going UP 5% instead of 15%.
Ohhh...
The gays are coming, the gays are coming. Hide your sphincters.
Ohhh...
Weed is bad, ummmkay. But OXY's for every bloated gasbag media douche-nozzle.
FFFFUUUUCCCCKKKK them all, the weak ones twice.
peace,
slam
(Yeah, I'm off my meds again.)
And I'm waiting for Michelle Bachmann to say it's Obama's fault why those Republican he-men didn't serve in the military.
Any minute now.
if raising the military budget meant more money to the grunts and other enlisted guys, i would be all for it
but most of the monies goes to the pentagon...which is a huge black hole
so i have no prob cutting military budget
as for all this bowing and gifts to dignitaries bs...omg...we are in the fucking 21st century...who the fuck cares
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN...THE FASCIST REGIME...THERE IS NO FUTURE AND ENGLANDS SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!!
