A middle-aged woman who has never been kissed, Susan Boyle, is the toast of Britain these days
I'd heard the story of Susan Boyle's appearance on Britain's Got Talent a few days ago and honestly had more than a bit of trouble believing in it. The cold-hearted cynic in me didn't want to believe that this wasn't all staged. It's just seemed like too much of a fairy tale for a 47 year-old woman, an unemployed virgin no less, to emerge from obscurity and walk onto the stage and show off pipes like this woman has. But then last night I actually watched the video of Susan Boyle's unbelievable performance, and now I'm officially a believer. Wow. Just fucking wow. The song she chose, "I Dreamed a Dream," couldn't have been more perfect. I had tears, yes actual tears, in my eyes. What is it that they say about not judging a book by its cover...

I am pretty sure a few years ago there was something similar on the same show with a guy who looked like one of JTP's disciples singing an amazing opera....

i really love that song.
It touched me too. Really heartwarming to watch. It brought tears to my eyes..and that's pretty amazing as my kids tell me I am 'old and bitter'.

You know that the producers knew she was a natural talent and I guess I respect that they did not try to change her "look." But now I imagine "What not to wear" will be her next show.
