Look, I like Peggy Noonan. I would even go so far as to call myself a "big fan" of her writing. Yes, her prose can be a little, ugh, loopy, at times, but it strikes a chord with me, even when I don't always agree with what she's saying. Go ahead and hate me if you want. But her defense, if you even want to go so far as to call it that, of the "interrogation" tactics unearthed by the newly released Bush torture memos is just, well, breathtakingly stupid.
Watching this clip of her "sometimes in life you just wanna keep walkin'...some of life has to be mysterious" ramblings on This Week sent my blood pressure through the proverbial roof...

Noonan seems to be endorsing "bystander apathy"..."just keep walking." She also looks a few xanax shy of conciousness.
Before today CB, had I seen you getting mugged I would have rushed to your aid but now that you have implicitly endorsed wanking to Mary Lou Retton I think I'll just holler "See! Your Mother Told You So!"

I was actually proposing a variation on Noonan's "just keep on walking" strategy. The so-called "keep on walking and taunt the victim" strategy.
I have no aversion to Retton wanking, as a matter of fact...

True story. I got caught wanking to Kristi Yamaguchi, skating in the 92' Olympics. I'm still held fully accountable any time female figure skating is on. (The story got out) At least it wasn't Brian Boitano.
