Fox News' Shepard Smith torture heroism: "We are America! I don't give a rat's ass if it helped...we do not fucking torture!"
RUH ROH! Shepard Smith, the bright shining star of common sense and objectivity over at Fox News, went rogue again tonight, BIG TIME! The subject of the debate was torture, and Shep had heard enough from the apologists, and he lost it. Let's hope that the FCC (although it's been brought to my attention that this was a web-only broadcast) and Roger Ailes don't come down too hard on him, for he should get at least one get-out-of-jail-free cards for being the only real patriot on that channel...

I have a friend who interned in the Fox News Room this past summer, and he (heterosexual) is madly MADLY in love with Shepard Smith. This is the same friend who over winterbreak LAST year worked for the McCain Campaign in NH.
<3 Shepard Smith
Shep has a history of doing this, yet he's still around. I wonder when the left will start just accepting that Fox isn't purely some right wing deal based on the evidence that people like Shep stick around. I like him even though he went to Ole Miss.
Shepard Smith continues to be my hero.
Sad thing is, he'll probably be canned by FoxNews or his contract won't be renewed, so he'll go to CNN or some place, and people will bash him for being "excessively liberal" or some shit like that.
The FCC doesn't regulate internet content.
Well, not yet, anyway; give it a few weeks...
pseudo-intellectual blog indeed...
First, the FCC does not regulate cable. Only over-air broadcasts.
Second, this was broadcast over the Internet, so even if the FCC did regulate cable, it wouldn't matter.
@ykw & anon...i didn't know this was net-only. i thought this happened during his show on the network.
Nick
smith is a token...and fox still sucks
the fact that they are even having this discussion and accepting as truth that the torture was "effective" is proof that they are nothing more than a right wing mouthpiece
according to the memos, all the real intel was gotten early on...so why was the torture continued?
so these fucks could force their prisoners into false confessions regarding the ties of al quaida to sadaam
the fucking chinese did this shit during korea
its called war crime
and bush, cheney, rummy and that fat turd rove should all be shot for crimes against humanity

OK, so both of these are evidently true:
a)Shep is soon to be fired
b)Shep is a token that must be kept on board
hypocritical freaks. if it happens to our soldiers, it's torture. if it happens to captives on our watch, it's effective.
i guess shep is the "balanced" they claim.
I'd torture an innocent newborn to prevent another 9/11, and if you had any moral compass, you would do the same.
Of course, the choice is never so stark, so we're left with nothing but messy gray areas. Welcome to the real world.
