Carl Edwards' crash in the 499th lap yesterday at Talledega is one of the freakiest things I've ever seen in sports

Note to self...if ever in my life I attend a NASCAR event, be sure to avoid sitting behind the "catch fence," because that mofo looked like it was about to give out on this one...

I had turned the TV and caught about the last 20 laps myself. Scary stuff. Heard this a.m. 7 injuries, the most serious a woman with an apparent broken jaw from flying debris. Report also indicated Talladega is a restrictor plate track because they needed to keep speeds below 200 mph in case cars got airborne. The laws of physics win again.
