Arlen Specter was vehemently opposed to party switching before he was in favor of it
Well this is certainly ripe! Look what the communists at CSPAN went and dug up in their archives! It's clip from 2001 of weaselly old ballsack Arlen Specter, of whom I am no fan, ripping former Republican Senator Jim Jeffords a new browneye for having the audacity to...wait for it...LEAVE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY! Even better, Specter was so enraged by Jeffords' traitorous actions, he takes this speaking opportunity on the floor of the Senate to propose a Senate rule to prevent senators from switching parties! Oh the irony is so fucking finger-licking delicious.
Behold...
For the love of God, please let there be some Democratic candidate (no, sit down Chris Matthews!) to step up and beat this fuck in the Pennsylvania Democratic primary in 2010.

Yeah, well, when your own party spends a solid two years telling you they would rather you just join the other side, you're fairly likely gonna finally take their "suggestion" to heart.
Look,I don't care for Specter a whole helluva lot either, but anything that helps the GOP keep on shrinking into the permanent minority party of bitter Southern assholes they truly are I most definitely favor.
Translation: I only care about the pretense of principles when things aren't going my way.
This clip illuminates the old-time politician. There will be no room for people like him in the future. The problems that need to be solved require this level of posturing and false mannerly behavior to be a thing of the past. He is so full of himself at all times that there is no room for anything else.
