Sarah Palin unleashes shockingly predictable attack on Obama for his "Special Olympics" gaffe

Well that didn't take long. Sarah Palin, predictably, has something to say about Barack Obama's gaffe on Leno last night. From The Daily Beast...

"I was shocked to learn of the comment made by President Obama about Special Olympics,” Palin said in a statement. “This was a degrading remark about our world’s most precious and unique people, coming from the most powerful position in the world. These athletes overcome more challenges, discrimination and adversity than most of us ever will. By the way, these athletes can outperform many of us and we should be proud of them. I hope President Obama’s comments do not reflect how he truly feels about the special needs community."

Interestingly, she who has appointed herself as the defacto spokesperson for people with "special needs" recently turned down millions of stimulus plan dollars that would have aided special education programs in her state. Once again, Palin's actions speak much louder than her painfully hollow words.

I had to stop reading at "our world’s most precious and unique people." Really Sarah? REALLY? The world's most precious and unique? I'm pretty sure there are some pygmies somewhere or you know, ANYONE, who would argue with that point.

I don't think she knows how to use her words.

Why no post on Obama's "shockingly predictable" apology? Will there be a post when he "shockingly, predictably" agrees to a self-aggrandizing photo-op with disabled bowlers in the very near future?

See this is where you hackiness comes in. Disagree with someone's views, fine. But don't just pick one side and continually attack them when they go about being politicians. Any halfway rational politician with a disabled child would make these statements.

And the really annoying thing is you make it look like me defending these retrograde idiots (Palin, et. al). It would be nice if you just turned on the ENTIRE political class.

During the campaign for the White House in 2008, the media criticized Palin for being ‘common,’ and ‘not presidential.’ However, compare Sarah Palins attitude in this video created three weeks ago for the Special Olympics in Boise, Idaho.

You decide the more ‘presidential’ among them:

I think everyone needs to take an Ativan and move on.

And yes, Sarah Palin is a big hypocrite for complaining about the joke and yet also denying funding to actually help special needs in her home state
AND
for mocking fruit fly research during her policy speech on the need for additional funding for Americans with special needs.

Oh I forgot -- it's okay when Republicans make gaffes and NEVER apologize because Jesus said so.

Nice, Sarah. You kind of blew up your supposed point.
