Rush Limbaugh takes the podium at CPAC and explains what "conservatives" really are
Hey look! Rush Limbaugh took the stage over the weekend to deliver the keynote address at the annual gathering of Jesus freaks, closeted gays, and goat-fuckers known as the CPAC convention. You know, the one where home-schooled 13 year-olds indoctrinated into the "movement" by being forced to listen to conservative talk for twelve hours a day are fawned over by the likes of Joe the Plumber. It's a grand time. Aren't you hating yourself for having missed it?
So anyway, Limbaugh took the stage and worked the collection of most idiotic of village idiots into a frothy "liberals are destroying America" frenzy. Along the way, he spent a couple of minutes defining who and what conservatives are, something I found very interesting because, according to Limbaugh, "conservatives love people!"
Really? Conservatives love "people," eh?
Is it then safe to assume that people who think that the story of Jesus Christ as told in the Bible is a fairy tale akin to the stories of Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny aren't really "people" then? Is it safe to assume that people who engage in coitus with members of their own sex are also not really "people?" Is it safe to assume that anyone whose political views fall anywhere to the left of Ghengis Khan are "liberal" and therefore aren't actually "people?"
"We see Americans, we see human beings, we don't see groups."
Oh really? Because I watched quite a bit of CPAC coverage on CSPAN over the weekend, and it sure seems to me that all conservatives see are groups. Liberal and conservative groups. Just about every speaker I saw defined all American citizens as either conservative or liberal, there was no gray area, you're either with us or against us, and it sure as hell seems to me that conservatives don't view people who disagree with them as Americans. Not "real" Americans anyway.
What a fucking joke.
And by the way wingnuts...the Founding Fathers you conservatives love to cling to were...wait for it...LIBERALS! If you took your heads out of your asses and actually objectively studied early American history, objectively studied their writings and their actions (storming government buildings, leading revolutions, etc.) you'd see that they fit the exact classical definition of what you call a liberal. But of course, that would involve actual thinking and to actually think one needs to hold the capacity for abstract thought and...oh nevermind.

I was watching Rahm Emanuel on "Face the Nation" yesterday morning when he identified Limbaugh as the spokesman for the GOP. I said to myself "Brilliant."
With luck my electricity will stay on during the economic downturn and the tap dance of public officials alternatively distancing themselves from and then embracing El Rushbo is going to be the most entertaining performance since Ginger Rodgers and Fred Astaire.
Even Rush is revising the meaning of his "I hope Obama fails" statement and reminding people today he is an "Entertainer."

Hey, hey, hey, Caj. I'm a conservative, I don't like Limbaugh, I don't mind homosexuals, I believe in evolution and I think you are going a little overboard when you lump conservatives in with those fringe FREAKS. All fringe folks are FREAKS, be they left or right.
I don't love people...but that's just because they're mostly stupid. :)
Meanwhile the "chosen one" Obama. Has yet to fix a FUCKING THING!
But what reason would it be to explain why nothing has been accomplished but a sharper declining economy and faster rising national debt and inflation when we can just talk about a fucking radio talk show host!
@turleygirlie...i suppose that i should have amended part of what i said and directed it at the type of people that limbaugh and others like him define as conservative. they've sort of hijacked the word, for the worst i might add. i know lots of people who are conservative who aren't reactionary, non-thinking dipshits. my apologies for letting the line become blurred.
@anon...he's been in office for barely over a month you slapdick. do things just magically fix themselves overnight in whatever delusional utopia you live in? are you not paying attention to anything? or do you just listen to limbaugh for your marching orders? because i listened to him today continually rant about the american economy is falling apart and obama isn't doing anything to fix it. i guess that's the new rallying cry and you bit into the hook fully. are you fucking kidding me?!?!?the guy is proposing the most sweeping change in years. get your head out of your smelly ass.
Right on CJ... Obama is a victim of coicumstance (Curly Howard voice). This economy was going into the crapper no matter who was in office, the only question is how quickly and how hard or soft we'll land. And I find it particularly funny that Rush talks about how Obama is some kind of big government liberal trying to destroy individual liberty. Uh, what was the Republican counter-offer? John McCain... who said he wanted the government to BUY MORTGAGES. Give me a break. There are no "conservatives" anymore, at least not in the fiscal sense.
The only difference between a conservative and a liberal is when, now what they praise. Conservatives praise Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln only after they are dead. The conservatives of those times were the ones that shot them dead.
Viva progressivism.
Conservatives may not all be freaks, but a good portion of them are damn sure freaky:

Rumor has it that Governor Arnold of Hollywood fame may quit the Repuglican party....he should and all he has to say is that, "Republicans are no longer "fiscal conservatives" and have not been for decades, Democrats starting with Bill Clinton are. Republicans are merely the party of old ideas."
I too think Emanuel is brilliant for tying that blowhard Rush to the GOP.. Limbaugh;s comments are despicable IMHO. If Obama fails, the Country is totally ruined.. way to put Country first you idiot!
I believe in the two party system. We need the give and take and civil and constructive debate is VERY healthy.. but what is coming out of CPAC is not healthy and some of their comments are nearly treasonous.
I wish the media would give them NO attention at all. But the right leaning media (owned by Murdoch etc. so you really cannot call the media liberal...I mean HONESTLY) thrive and get their ratings by creating fear and controversy; so I guess those wingnuts will keep getting undeserved attention. Pfft.
For now, the Administration should keep calling it Bush' recession. Lets rebrand it accordingly.
And god or who ever help us if Obama fails.. cus we will all be completely screwed...
NoCalGal
Many real Republicans think Rush is a joke and do not understand why our party is now so far off track.
We/They deserved to lose this election and I really hope that the Party gives some real thought to what they stand for.
We are not all stupid Rush followers any more than Democrats are all on welfare and having abortions.
caj,
In response to the slapdick comment. I for one, do not listen to Rush nor do I listen to any one particular person when referring to politics or the economy becuase you can get a slanted view quickly when doing so. All media outlets now have a slant, hell half the newspapers in America admitted after the election that they were in the bag for Obama.
What I am getting at, You praise the sense of individualism and how we need to embrace all and how diversity is the fabric of America, exept for when those ideas seem to contradict your then they are "Kooks". In diversity you will find others that do not agree with what the present presidential administration is trying to do. Yes, Obama is "proposing" a ton, in his address he did everything but say he knows how to cure cancer and raise the dead. But at some point the Obama supporters have to get their heads out of their own asses and say to themselves "whats the probablity that not ONE fucking person on this earth has ever seen an economic climate like this EVER, but yet the one person who knows all the answers to every question is Obama?" Come on, you got to be kidding me...
Despite what I might think regarding Obama or Pelosi I am not making judgments based on opinion but mere facts. Facts are since Doubling the national debt the market has fallen 20% and is continualy declining...the reason for it? Because the FUCKING market is smarter than people in Elkhart, Indiana. It knows that what the Government is trying to do won't fix things. Fuck, I will quote Ayn Rand "destoying capitalism consists of establishing controls that tie industries, making them unable to solve their own problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary". America can't keep throwing money away trying to "save industries" while placing holds on them and expect anything to be solved.
I don't expect things to be solved overnight, I would dare to say 60% of Obama voters do, or did anyway, including the guy in line with me who said "when my boy Obama gets elected, I AM GOING TO TAKE YO FUCKIN HOUSE".
But what I do expect is more of a realistic view of how to correct the market and better fiscal responsability and for our president to not lie to the nation.
(when he addressed the congress on television he said the stimulus was earmark free, which is complete horseshit). Throwing money at the problem is not the answer, raising taxes on the people who create jobs is not the answer, the fucking Lilly Ledbetter fair pay act is not the answer, for fuck sake what would kill business faster than allowing more frivolous lawsuits towards businesses regardless of time frame upon which it happened than this bill?
the 5.5 billion toward green buildings
the 198million for department of homeland security headquarters remodel
the 1.2 million for summer youth jobs
the 684million pushing america toward Universal Healthcare
the 200million for coastal navigation programs
the 50million for shrimp research
the 7million for wine genetic research
the 5million for wood utilization research
the 200million for workplace safety
the 100 maritime administration for shipyards
or 650 for dtv transition
or the best one I have heard yet in the new spending bill there is 1.8billion going toward "SWINE ODOR" research..seriously?
These aren't going to do it, nor is a collection of these going to fix the economy. There are times and places for these things and none of them are right now. Placing greater regulation isn't going to fix a thing, but probably hamstring the free market even more. Capitalism succeeds when left alone...maybe Darwin was onto something, if businesses can't make it, fuck'em. We are not a welfare state and it is time that liberals realize that.
