How to inflate a flat tire using fire
Longtime friend of CBITC Patricia emailed this to me yesterday, and I'm still baffled by it. It's a video of a guy inflating a tire by spraying it down with something out of a can (WD-40 perhaps?) and then setting it ablaze, which promptly inflates the tire. Yeah.
It appears as though the guys in the video or European, German if I had to guess, but this certainly seems like something a bunch of drunk coonasses on a deer hunt back home would do. Hell, it's got Boudreaux and Thibodaux written all over it...

Coonasses are ubiquitous the world over, apparently. This came from my friend who lives in London, who got it from a friend who lives in Australia. Outback rednecks! I am mesmerized by it, too, I think I have replayed it about 20 times.
Technically they're not inflating it but re-beading it. (I don't know if that's the proper term.) Basically the tire lost pressure and the bead (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tire_bead) came loose because it's held in place by pressure. The quick and intense flame causes the air inside to expand and the seal to be reset.
actually it is very common to use ether or similar product(not WD40)then ignite it to set the bead of larger tires, which will also cause some inflation of said tire.
old hat... just settin the bead... you need to get out more
