UConn basketball coach Jim Calhoun rips dipshit reporter a new asshole

Without even getting into the merits of the argument for either side, this is very fucking funny to me...

(via With Leather)

I suddenly have a newfound respect for Jim Calhoun.

Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have more responsibility here than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. I know deep down in places you dont talk about at parties, you don't want me on that wall, you need me on that wall.

I don't care how much money his team brings in, he's still an over paid jerk.

Secretaries, janitors, librarians and other UConn employees who make a fraction of the coach's salary are being asked to give back personal days and otherwise absorb the gap that the state budget and shrinking endowment can't meet. OK, fine, so the freakin coach feels PERSONALLY responsible for bringing home the 12 mill that the Huskies franchise supposedly represents. Ignoring the holes in that logic, what kind of university, what kind of country can endure when superstars can feel entitled to outrageously, over-the-to rewards while others -- who slog in the trenches day-to-day -- are hanging on by their fingernails? The point is, how do you ask the rank and file who keep the lights on to make sacrifices when the guys at the top are exempt from the "sacrifice." It looks real bad.

Kermit, the only ones who 'look' bad are the new Robin Hoods like Kenny boy whose only claim to fame is chasing proven people (like Coach Calhoun) around and crying in their Wheaties about how insensitive and uncaring they are and how capitalism is the new n-word. I'm afraid with this Administration in Washington now that all the so-called downtrodden and held-down folks will feel that they have overcame. Sorry to say to the PC crowd and Liberals, Col. Jessup's still in charge and on that wall...............Stuff that in your burka.
