The legend of Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger continues its lurch toward ridiculous proportions with new tale of library book chivalry

I'm starting to begin to think that this guy isn't even real anymore. He's like something right out of the show Heroes. This guy's piss heals the blind! Case in point...

When the US Airways pilot's plane ended up at the bottom of the Hudson River on Jan. 15, so did a book he had checked out from the library at California State University, Fresno, through his local library near Danville.

Sullenberger contacted library officials and asked for an extension and waiver of overdue fees because the book was in the airliner's cargo hold.

Fresno State library officials said they were struck by Sullenberger's sense of responsibility and did him one better: they're waiving all fees, even lost book fees, and placing a template in the replacement book dedicating it to him.

The book's subject? Professional ethics.

Seriously?!?!?! Surely there's someone out there who'll eventually step forward to say that they had a cocaine-fueled gay sex romp with Sully in Catholic church confessional, right? At the very least there's got to be someone who he cutoff in traffic one time?! Geez...this guy is unreal.

Hilarious! Although why is he asking for an extension and a late fee waiver? That book is likely ruined.

Obama should have him head up government ethics or the FAA, he's not the typical pilot , thats for sure. As a retired flight attendant, I saw most of them cheating or trying to cheat on their wives/girlfriends.
Although in their defense, the pilots who were ex military did use better judgement, and have a stronger sense of responsibility than the civilian pilots. Fortunately, I worked for an airline that preferred military pilots and for the most part never had any "terrifying incidents" occur during my career.

Rachel Maddow had a bit on this and I had the same thoughts exactly. No way Sully is a real human because most of us humans suck ass.

I have the same feelings about Jesus Christ/Tim Tebow.

When I moved from NYC to LA I had a book I was not finished reading. So I mailed it back when I was done. Do I get a medal?

you know.. they have never released the findings of what CAUSED this crash... and I read somewhere that when pilots hit a bird (in one engine) or have difficulties with one engine, they shut off both engines,,, so.. just enquiring what really caused the loss of engines....
