Doug Stanhope on Sarah Palin
Over the weekend I was on the Highline Ballroom's website to get tickets for a Doug Stanhope stand-up show in April. On the site's page promoting his appearance, there was a YouTube embed from one of Stanhope's past shows. In it, he rails for a few minutes on Sarah Palin, so I felt compelled to post it here. Naturally.
Now, let me warn you in the event you've never seen Stanhope perform previously...he says things that most people wouldn't even think to themselves. So, with that said, this is extremely, ugh, crude, and definitely not safe to blast through your speakers at work...

Please let go of Sarah Palin. Your obsession is starting to get REAL TIRED. I know you can't "Quit" her, but there may be treatment of some sort for this and you should consider it. Aside from your Sarah obsessiveness, I really, truly dig you and think you are funny and intelligent and your writing is very, very, very sexy.

doug stanhope is hilarious. i've meet him twice... his best friend is a bartender here in alaska, and i used to work with his wife at a different bar.

@anon...are you at all familiar with the concept of "weening?" and i'm pretty sure that i've made it through an entire week without putting together the words "sarah" and "palin" on this blog. I think. she just refuses to go the fuck away.
now, with that said, thank you for the compliment. i'm very, very, very flattered.
Stanhope was amazing when I saw him a few years ago -- the two headed retard baby bit was pee in your pants funny.
But his shows can be hit or miss. He tends to get really fucked up on stage, which can be fun to watch, but the comedy suffers. You've got to catch him when he's only buzzing, maybe borderline drunk.
I saw him perform drunk on stage about a year ago, which wasn't a problem until someone gave him some mushrooms to trip on. At that point, it really fell apart.
Still, the man is a genius.
CBITC, DO NOT let go of Palin until she is behind bars where she belongs with the rest of the liars and thieves. Your commentary is right on and she is the one who keeps putting herself out there. She will not go away until we put her away. The mainstream media continues to look away for now. The very thought of her having any position of power in this country terrifies me.

Obviously he can´t wrap his mind around the phenomenom of Sarah Palin, but neither can I.
Her presence on OUR national stage is just as obscene to me, so thanks for posting this.
