Christian Bale's assholish meltdown on set of Terminator 4 should definitely end any "I wonder if he'd be a good theater actor?" speculation

Earlier today, someone released an audio clip of Christian Bale losing his mind on the set of the new Terminator movie that may be the best "behind the scenes" footage of actor douchebaggery ever released to the general public. Bale, obviously miked for a scene, went apeshit on cinematographer Shane Hurlbut for...are you ready for this...moving around off-camera within Bale's precious sightline while he was performing the all-important and oh so delicate feat of pretending to be a fictional character in a sci-fi flick. Hurlbut's movements were apparently such a heinous distraction that it caused Bale to unleash the type of tirade usually reserved for walking in on your wife blowing your best friend or something.

Without even bothering to check his bio, I'm guessing that Bale doesn't have a background in live theater. I shudder to think what he might do if there was an old man audibly snoring in the front row of a performance during his "acting" of a scene. Or a ringing cellphone. Or a late-arriving audience member trying to get into a seat. Etc. Dude would probably disembowel himself right there on stage or something, only to turn around and blame on mercury poisoning resulting from a chronic addiction to spicy tuna rolls.

What's most interesting to me about this is that it was leaked to the public, which tells me that there are more than a few people associated with this film who are tired of Bale's horseshit. Over the course of filmmaking history, there have been countless epic actor meltdowns, hell I've witnessed a couple myself and have heard many stories of others, but rarely do they leak like this, even in the Internet era. It's all kept within the family so to speak. This was done deliberately to shame him, I'm guessing either by a pissed off producer, the director, the scorned Shane Hurlbut, or someone else with some semblance of power on the set of this film. Whatever their motivations might be, I can't really say that I blame them after hearing this...
