Holy crap...A US Airways flight from New York to Charlotte is in the Hudson River, reportedly downed by a flock of geese?!?!

Watching it on the local news now. Flight 1549 was en route from New York to Charlotte, North Carolina, carrying 164 passengers and 5 crew members. Sirens and choppers all over the place. Unreal!
UPDATE: The local news is reporting that the pilot radioed a distress call shortly after takeoff that the plane had become disabled by a flock of geese and that "scores of people have been rescued from the water." The pilot figured that he could not make it back to LaGuardia and the West Side highway was filled with traffic, so he made the decision to put the plane down in the Hudson River. It's cold as fuck here today...I can only imagine how cold that river is.

Was just watching the live feed on CNN about this at work. Co-worker said she heard they were trying to avoid a flock of geese.
I really hope everyone is okay.
I heard in a news report that there were SO many geese in this gaggle that it was visible on radar!
