Dave Grohl of The Foo Fighters performing Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" on Craig Kilborn's show

Yesterday I posted a video of Dave Grohl performing Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" on Craig Kilborn's old show on CBS and a commenter mentioned this video of him covering "Stairway to Heaven." It's funny as hell because it seems pretty impromptu and he forgets the lyrics in a couple of spots, but comes back to nail it pretty well in the "kick-it-up" climax of the song. Enjoy...

Yes, CBITC is now the unofficial Dave Grohl fanboy blog.

How does one NOT KNOW those words?

It makes wonder. Whoa-oh-oh.

Really makes me wonder.

i'm pretty sure Robert Plant didn't know the words either because any live Led Zeppelin the lyrics are unintelligible except for the word "baby".

Since CB has developed a man-crush on Grohl I'm gonna have to call him out\. The two Grohl videos posted SUCK! He's not Tenacious D for crying out loud. I love Tiny Dancer and never want to hear anyone but Elton John sing it again. Stairway to Heaven? give me a break, that song as a joke is not funny anymore. The song was overplayed, now the parody of the fact that the song is overplayed is overplayed.

My last point, I've been studying Zeppelin philosophicaly since I was 10 years old and have come to the conclusion that they are overrated. (BTW I own all Zeppelin studio album not just the box set).

Zepplin = Nirvana = Suck Live.

As for Grohl and the Foo Fighters I haven't heard enough to form an opinion but this doesn't impress me.
