Troopergate s&@t could hit the fan tomorrow

Well kids, tomorrow is the day that the Alaskan State legislature's report about the investigation into the Sarah Palin Troopergate scandal, where Palin and her husband went to great lengths to try to get their ex-brother-in-law fired from the state police force, is supposed to drop, despite the best efforts of the Palins and assloads of Republican attorneys who have tried to stonewall it. Their last desperate effort was an appeal to the Alaskan state supreme court that was denied this afternoon. Now we just have to keep fingers crossed that the legislature votes tomorrow to make the findings of the investigation available to the public. And Friday's NY Times has a big piece on the obsessive lengths the Palin family went in an effort to destroy Trooper Mike Wooten...

Ms. Palin has denied that anyone told Mr. Monegan to dismiss Trooper Wooten, or that the commissioner’s ouster had anything to do with him. But an examination of the case, based on interviews with Mr. Monegan and several top aides, indicates that, to a far greater degree than was previously known, the governor, her husband and her administration pressed the commissioner and his staff to get Trooper Wooten off the force, though without directly ordering it.

In all, the commissioner and his aides were contacted about Trooper Wooten three dozen times over 19 months by the governor, her husband and seven administration officials, interviews and documents show.
