I'm sorry, feel free to call me crazy, but this just does not make any sense to me at all
I can't quit Sarah Palin.
Seriously, I should probably just go away and shut the fuck up as I feel as though this whole thing is slowly driving me insane, but I can't help myself, I can't make sense of this and I guess it's in my nature to try and make sense of the things I can't seem to make sense of. I also think that there are some things in life that you run across that perplex you but you let them go for the sake of just moving on, you compartmentalize these things and eventually you just forget about them completely, but this is not one of those things that I can let go of, there's too much at stake here and it's too Goddamn important. Now, since I can't seem to make sense of it on my own, I figure that maybe thinking out loud on this here blog will help me flush out some semblance of understanding, or at least spark an enlightened comment or an email from a reader that helps me to see the light. So here it goes.
Let's start with some photographic contradictions. This is a picture being circulated around now featuring an obviously pregnant Sarah Palin in April of this year that some say proves that she was pregnant with Trig...![]()
I mean, it's obvious, right? And it's definitely not a photoshop as the the reporter doing the interview in the pic is on record as saying that Palin definitely looked pregnant in person.
Now, can someone please explain to me how a woman can go from looking so obviously pregnant in the photo above to so obviously un-pregnant in this AP photo below, taken March 9th, barely a month before she gave birth?
And then there's this widely circulated pic taken just a few weeks earlier...
Contrast that with this AP photo of Palin at seven months with her first child, Track...
And while I'm on the subject of pictures, why aren't there more photos and/or video of a visibly pregnant Sarah Palin available? In my lifetime I've lived in two states, Louisiana and New York, and during that time I don't think that a day has passed without there being a picture in the paper or a news report on television that didn't feature the governor of the state I was living in at the time. Generally, it's a pretty high profile position, thus, that person's life is pretty well documented in the public domain. Where are the mountains of visibly preggers Sarah Palin photos/video? Or how about some photos of a not pregnant Bristol Palin taken during this time, the time where she was out of school for months with an "extended case of mono."
Then there's the other thing, the main thing among many things about all of this, that I truly cannot understand for the life of me...the kooky-ass trip she took to Dallas and back in April. Let's go through this again step by step...
-Palin flies to Dallas in her 8th month of pregnancy, something that any medical professional worth his or her salt would seriously frown upon, with a special needs child inside of her.
-On April 17th, hours before she is supposed to deliver her speech, she begins to leak amniotic fluid and begins having contractions. She calls her doctor, who is NOT a perinatologist or even a run of the mill OB/GYN, but is instead a family practice doctor who specializes in CHILD ABUSE cases, who then advises this 44 year old woman carrying a special needs child to go ahead and give her speech and then jump on a plane back to Alaska.
-Palin gives her speech. No one is on record, that I have seen anyway, as saying that they noticed that she was a pregnant woman in labor at the conference.
-Palin takes an Alaskan Airlines flight back to Anchorage, stopping off in Seattle along the way. She fails to notify any Alaskan Airlines personnel that she is pregnant, or that she that she's a pregnant woman WHO HAS GONE INTO FREAKING LABOR, nor does any of the Alaskan Airlines staff even notice that she is pregnant. In doing all of this she bypasses the opportunity to birth the child in two major American cities with world class health facilities, risking the lives of the baby and herself in the process. She gets into Anchorage nine hours later at 10:30 PM where, rather than go directly to one of the hospitals in the immediate area, she drives an hour outside of town to the Mat-Su medical center, a facility that doesn't even have a neo-natal ICU and where her doctor isn't listed as a staff member. Despite the fact that she is leaking amniotic fluid, the doctor induces labor, on a premature special needs child mind you, and she gives birth 18 1/2 hours later. The record of the child's birth is completely omitted from the hospital's website.
-Three days later, Sarah Palin returns to work.
Now, here's where my sanity will come into question as I throw out three of the most common things that some people I know have speculated upon through hushed whispers in private conversations and in other outposts on the Internet, that actually have been festering inside of my wee Cajun brain. Here we go...
-About the picture above where she looks so pregnant in contrast to others where she does not, not to mention that there seems to be an odd lack of photographs in which Palin, someone in the public eye, is visibly pregnant, some seem to think that she is wearing something, some sort of pregnancy fat suit, underneath.
-Due the fact that Palin's doctor is one of the foremost experts on child abuse in the state of Alaska, some have speculated that something incestual may have been at play here, which might also explain the extreme desire to keep the whole thing covered up.
-In the wake of the announcement that Bristol is presently pregnant, some have speculated that it's a ruse to throw people off, and that she'll suffer a mysterious miscarriage in the near future.
I know, I know, all of this is patently absurd, like something straight out of a cheesy political novel, but here's the thing that I keep coming back to in my mind when taking all of this in in its totality...Never underestimate the lengths that a person on a delusional power trip will go to maintain and expand that power, nor should you underestimate the lengths that a mother will go to in order to protect her children. Rarely does anything nutty done by a human being surprise me any more.
But they seem like such a sweet family. It tears at me inside to even consider such things. Regardless, even if all of this is completely disproved, and I genuinely hope that it is, the kooky flight from Dallas to Alaska freaks me the fuck out, so much so that the idea of having someone whose thought process works like hers does anywhere near the White House is completely unacceptable.
And oh yeah, there are a couple of videos available online from the late stages of Palin's pregnancy as well...
The Sarah Palin interview in the video below took place in March of this year, one month before she gave birth to her youngest son Trig. This would have made her seven months pregnant at the the time. In it, she leads the interviewer from the Alaska Podshow on a mini-tour of the town, taking him along on her daily trek from the Governor's Mansion to the State House, walking speedily along in high heels while sipping coffee, something she says is part of her daily ritual. The major point of dialogue, for me anyway, comes when the interviewer asks Palin about her hobbies. This was her response...
"I like running the hills. It kills me. It thrashes your guts, and your lungs, and your thighs so that's why I like it."
It should be noted that at no point in the interview did the issue of pregnancy arise. The point where she enters is right about the four minute mark, and the more close up shots come when she is standing stationary come in the latter part of the interview, which takes place in her office.
I watched this twice looking very hard for any sort of midsection bump and can't find one. Let me know if you do.
Juneau, Alaska | Hike w/ Gov. Sarah Palin from Alaska HDTV on Vimeo.
This one is of Sarah Palin being interviewed by Newsweek's Karen Breslau at the magazine's Women & Leadership Event in Los Angeles back in March. Two days after this event, Palin would announce her pregnancy. So the question is...does a woman in her seventh month of pregnancy carrying a normal sized child sit like this?
Even Diddy agrees that this is all so preposterous...
I wonder if he's seen this flow chart...

Finally, please save all of your email blasting me as being a "liberal blogger" and a "pawn for the Democratic Party," as some have done over the last 48 hours or so. Nothing could be further from the truth, which is that I'm a lifelong Republican, albeit one currently mired in a profound disenchantment with what that party has become over the last few years. What I am is someone with an open mind who doesn't vote along strict party lines and who hasn't sipped any political party's Kool-Aid. Fact of the matter is, the current Republican regime has run the country into the ditch, and I frankly don't trust them to drive it out of said ditch. I think that John McCain is a good man, he was actually my guy in 2000 before he was fucked over by Karl Rove's slime machine, but the John McCain of 2008 is not the John McCain of 2000. Same goes for the Republican Party at large. Sarah Palin on the ticket as the VP nominee only serves to affirm that belief.
Stay tuned for more in this ongoing saga...

Cajun Boy,
Why hasn't anyone commented on your post? It's a masterpiece. I think the logical next step is for the Democrats to get a search warrant for the Palin compound and find the pregnancy fat suit.
You are not crazy. You are onto something. The MSM does not use myspace to connect the dots. There is definitely some cover up going on. Something important enough that SP is willing to throw her daughter under a bus to cover up. Maybe she's not covering for Bristol. Maybe she's covering for her son, or her husband. Keep digging.
I am so glad that I am not the only psycho obsessed with this. It's completely surreal. I am still in shock that this woman is going to get a chance to be a heartbeat from the presidency! I must be having a nightmare!
Listen, I think maybe you need to relax a little bit. Take a step back, drink some water, maybe go for a little jog.
I'm a Harvard Law School graduate - for whatever that's worth - and I don't think you are crazy. There is nothing more American than asking questions and demanding answers. Keep up the fight!
You are definitely not crazy. I know how hard it is to be the one to do the heavy lifting or to uncover something really nasty you wish you could just cover up. Hang in there. There is a good chance the Natl Enq might pick up where you left off, but there is a good chance that no one will
This whole thing reeks as a giant conspiracy cover-up
Scandal of the Century!
The truth is out there! Too bad Fox Mulder is in rehab over sex addiction.
You are not crazy. There is a lie in there somewhere....
This is the part where you're inches from the truth but think you're crazy because you don't know which part of the story is a lie yet :-)
Good luck. FWIW I think you're onto something big.
I'm sure Palin will be releasing all of her medical records. Right?
This could all turn out to have some semi-logical explanation, but the whole "I'm in labor in Texas, so I'll get on a plane, return to Alaska, and drive all the way to Wasila to have the baby" thing is the one component of the story that no one can rationally explain.
The thing that gets me is that the McCain camp says that the poor 17 year old was "outed" by nasty liberal bloggers and they were forced to disclose her pregnancy to dispel rumors of the Trig situation. Why the heck didn't she just release her medical records? She didn't need to throw her daughter under the bus and then say she was forced into it.
I was trying to figure out why she covered the first one up and not this "pregnancy," if Bristol really is pregnant, and thought of the same awful possibility: incest.
If that's correct, Sarah Palin must be crazy with ambition to expose her daughter to this kind of scrutiny.
I am equally obsessed and think you are spot-on with your suspicions. Keep up the good work and please don't give up or think you are going nuts. Stranger things have happened.

very thoughtful post, cajun boy.
something doesn't add up. that's doesn't mean there ISN'T a benign explanation, but the red flags are there. those who jump on people for having the balls to ask questions disrepect the ideals on which our country was founded.
if sarah indeed delivered trig, i expect more photos will be released or hunted down to prove this. surely there are other photos that reveal her pregnant. its the fifth kid, but surely at least one photo was taken at the hospital with the new baby?
if people saw her visibly pregnant in dallas, someone will turn up.
all the silence is deafening. if there's nothing to hide, Palin should just shoot down the rumors.
I have to say, connecting the dots is much easier with the internet. Finding travel dates for the young soon to be shotgun groom to see if he and the expectant mother were together is a first step.
A completely missed speculation (my thoughts, no supporting evidence) is that perhaps the Trig Palin is an adopted child, hence the lack of pregnancy, if not an outside chance to be Bristol and Levi's second child with a month tacked onto the actual pregnancy stage (oops, the baby came a month later than expected but is a normal birth weight).
I do think much of the focus on these issues should be intensely private, except for the extremely self-serving egotism of the current VP selection. What caring parent of either gender would allow the other parent in a functional family unit with significant challenges such as trisomy 23/down's syndrome and an unplanned unmarried teen pregnancy to place their children under such harsh glare of a highly contested national election (regardless of political and religious upbringing)?
The GOP has already been slinging negative, and pretends shock when issues so far from their "conservative core family values". It doesn't surprise me to see them show up flustered with some last minute "quick, find someone else to counter the Biden pick" hysteria of a Rove inspired failing campaign.
Keep up the fact checking and picture searches. A governor attending national meetings, working out frequently, and leaking amniotic fluid while giving speeches should be easy to corroborate for the GOP by having the physician speak up with the family's blessings to avoid HIPPA issues. Only a doctor unafraid of losing their license can speak the truth, but no physician I know would risk their license by lying.
Elections come every four years. Can't wait til November.
I used to respect McCain, but respect can be lost when you lose your moral compass as many in the current party seem to have done. So sad for the once grand party of Lincoln. Perhaps a new day is dawning...
Thanks again!
IF and I mean a BIG IF, she really was pregnant... (I am still of the opinion, that Trig is Bristol's son)
I have been thinking about this all day.
What if -
all the following is my hypothetical "What If" and only based on my feelings, intuition, knowing people, reading between the lines etc and not anything I have "proof" of. So take what I am about to say with a grain of salt, and an open mind as my inner Bitch will be on the loose and on the rampage.
If that is not your cup of tea, then do not read any further...
What if, Sarah Palin was really pregnant, and as soon as she had her first pre-natal (around 3 months) the Dr informed he that she was a "High risk" mother because of her age, and that they needed to do some genetic tests (all common and nothing unusual for a pregnant mother of 44). In the 2 weeks or so it takes for tests to come back, they decided not to tell anyone due the scare the Dr put in them after talking about high risk pregnancy's and what they mean.
So then the tests come back...and low and behold it is the news they feared, a Down's Syndrome baby.
So many people think this is the worst thing that can happen to a family (why the abortion rate of DS baby's is around 80%. )
OK, so you are freaking out, but because of your religion, political stance and being very much in the public eyes, You CANNOT get an abortion...EVEN IF YOU WANTED TOO.
So what does that leave...
God can give you a miscarriage
You can have a still born baby
Anything to not to have to go through this pregnancy. Anything, but abortion....
Cover up being pregnant by exercising more, hoping to miscarry (It is a possibility with high risk pregnancy's) this also helps you stay thin...
Indulge in known risky behavior (like flying when in labor)
All the time hoping that that baby will die. After all, every time you see your Dr. You are told about you being in a "High Risk" pregnancy and what having a Down's Syndrome baby really means.
You can't tell anyone you don't want this baby, as that would be tantamount to admitting "Not all children are God's blessings" and turning your back on your Faith, your Church and your Politics (the way you make money).
So you don't tell anyone one else either, because you are so afraid that they will see right through your less than exuberant demeanor.
You don't really want anything to do with the baby even after he is born. You go back to work after 3 days, you let your oldest take care of him. All because he is not the "Perfect" child, that you never really wanted to begin with.
Inner Bitch rant off now.
Go ahead and call me names for thinking such horrible things. But I know Life is full of dark sides, and people do horrible things to themselves and to others all while denying it to themselves. Look at that woman who strapped her kids in the car, and let the car drive into a lake. All while standing on shore listening to her kids scream for help and down in front of her. Right now, there is that woman who's 3 year old daughter "Disappeared" and she did not report it for over a month. Police seem to think she killed her daughter, the trial is coming up.
Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! You are NOT alone in being haunted by the inconsistencies of this BabyMamaDrama. No longer is it: Who's yo Daddy?, but Who's yo Mommy?! I've got you bookmarked so that I can continue to be inspired (and scared) by your findings. Good luck to you; we need you.
I'm so entranced by your posts on this subject: not just because I think this is one of the cover-ups of the century and you're investigating it admirably, but because I know you're a Republican by nature.
I can't understand that aberration, but still, there it is. >:-D
PLUS: in the midst of all this misery and horror, you present us with the philosophy of P.Diddy/Diddy/Sean Coombs/Sean "Puffy" Coombs/Puff Daddy and make me laugh my frigging ass off. Thank you SO MUCH!
*blowing kisses*
You can just call me crazy too because this Palin thing is bugging me too.
And that baby in those pictures is not a 6lb baby. I had a 6lb baby and I also had a 3lb 12 oz baby and that baby is too small for a 6lb baby. Look at his shins, they are about as long as her index finger.
It may not be at the hospital, maybe it was at a checkup later, no hospital bracelet on the baby that I see, and the room doesn't match the birthing rooms on that hospitals website. It might not even be Trig Palin, but babies do not shrink either, even in Alaska, lol, and the Gov is not wearing any pants btw.
And maybe that is all there is to it, she doesn't want the birth weight known, didn't want to get accused of being annorexic or someting, who knows? But too much just doesn't make sense, and if it doesn't make sense, it's usually not true....
Like ARCXIX from Daily Kos, you are to be FULLY commended with hunting this down, Cajun Boy. Don't let the naysayers get to you. Much of what you dig up may be untrue. Some of it may not wash. What matters is that you search and ASK the questions.
I'm convinced that this is important. It's not an attempt to destroy Bristol's, Levi's, or any Palin's privacy or life. But, they are now in the public eye, something doesn't jibe, and we need to know.
Without the work you guys have done, we wouldn't even know about Bristol's "pregnancy". KUDOS GALORE!!! Yes, I said that.
Alright, I gotta up the insanity, just b/c I need to know I'm not alone in it!:
1. Whatever happened to Chris Ray, the boy who supposedly proclaimed his love for Bristol on his Myspace page? Is it possible this Levi kid is a substitute?
2. Is it possible that the predicted miscarriage will ALSO serve as the reason for Palin's imminent withdrawal?
3. I saw some commentary from someone connected to Palin and, while not a fan of hers, wanted to set things straight. She said that Trig is uncategorically Sarah's. Is it possible we're barking up the wrong tree on this one? I just can't get over how rarely we see "mom" and/or "dad" holding Trig. I love the photo where Sarah's taking a call while holding him - I know you've seen it.
4. Has anyone confirmed that this Dr. Johnson is an "expert" in child abuse cases? If so, could she routinely be working with Bristol b/c she's underage?
5. Is the fluid leak a cover for Palin's effort to hightail it back to Alaska for Bristol's labor?
6. Has anyone obtained confirmation on Bristol's absence from school? I think this time period is CRITICAL to the whole case. If that timeline can be confirmed, it will answer EVERYTHING!
It does all sound suspicious - especially the part about her not telling anybody she was pregnant for 7 months...but if you read this account from April in the Anchorage Daily News it does sound a little less crazy.
http://www.adn.com/626/story/382864.html
Here's one of the best comments I've seen so far on the whole matter:
"The McCain/Palin campaign could put this story to rest by:
1. Release Gov. Palin's health records -- just as McCain (http://www.medpagetoday.com/Campaign08/Campaign08/tb/9599) and Obama (http://www.webmd.com/news/20080529/obama-in-excellent-health-says-doctor)have done, and Biden will do (http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-08-30-biden_N.htm).
2. Produce the birth certificate for baby Trig, by law it must identify the parents. In most states the birth cert is a public record, but is not in Alaska. To hide behind a claim of "privacy" in these circumstances doesn't hold water.
3. Produce Bristol's school attendance and health records: was she really absent from Wasilla HS, did she really transfer to one of the Anchorage High Schools (there are six of them), and if so did she attend?"
Now, I'll give you that each and every one of these documents could be altered to fit the story we've been given. But, the KEY is that they will involve so many more parties in that effort - something will leak and/or break down.
it would be nice to see if you clowns spent as much time researching obama and his ties to william ayers as you are this stuff...dont forget to wave at the black helicopters circling overhead...
speaking from experience, many women pregnant with 'unhealthy' babies prefer to not tell anyone of the pregnancy until as late as possible due to the likelihood of loss...also, most women who have delivered several babies know their immediate situation better than anyone - while 'leaking' fluid, she could have very well 'known' she was no where near delivery nor harm to the baby...points to consider for those of you with no experience in such a situation....
Seriously, if I got on a plane in her condition..I would keep my mouth shut. I would not brag about it. When she made that decision, her actions said..I don't care about the health of this baby or any of the other people on this commercial plane that may be diverted because I'm a selfish person.
I've never voted democrat..but never say never. I can't support her as VP.
ha and i just saw this on drudge:
http://www.hollywood-newsroom.com/gossip/sarah-palin-naked/
time zone change - she arrived around 11 or 12 in alaska.
You aren't crazy. I am so glad you pointed out everything I have been telling my husband so I can show him I am not the only one letting this consume me. I grew up in Alabama, was raised Southern Baptist, and therefore obviously Republican. I don't really have a party now, but the minute I heard McCain chose Palin I called my Mother and told her I would be voting for Obama. What did my staunch Republican Mother respond with? "Me too."
Dear anonymous Souther Baptist fro m Alabama,
Your comment is the most uplifting thing I've read in days! (BTW, also native of "Bama, heathen Methodist though)
RJ
I'm absolutely obsessed with this story. Very well done post. Let's not forget the photos of Bristol supporting her belly! Whether or not Bristol gave birth to Trig, or something else very weird is going on, I don't see how they felt that revealing this new pregnancy explained away all of our questions about Trig! Is Bristol showing now?
Jacquelynn, your proposed scenario is completely plausible — and completely in synch with most of the "pro-life" yet "everything has to be perfect" and "no one better get in the way of my career" women I know personally. I would never suggest that a woman can't have children and work, too, but so many of them I know (again, this is from personal experience) seem to see their kids as just another accomplishment, another sign of material prosperity, just another possession to be displayed to impress their community (right along with the Lexus SUV). As soon as they spit them out, they hand them off to a caretaker and head back to work. Actually "parenting" them? Forget it! Sarah Palin strikes me as a very driven career woman who would stop at nothing to protect & further her political aspirations. A Downs Syndrome baby certainly wouldn't fit into that scenario. Even a healthy 4-month old baby needs almost constant care from its mother. Imagine the demands Trig will be putting on his mother - no matter who she really is! And since (as you say) an abortion would be in opposition to her own "values" and political platform, she could have very well decided that a "natural" abortion, a miscarriage - brought on by by engaging in risky behavior during her high risk pregnancy - was the only way to go. Kind of like people who don't believe in contraception (ie. the Palins) using "natural" family planning by practicing the rhythm method of birth control. As a former Catholic, I know scores of children out there that are the result of the rhythm method! Unfortunately for Ms. Palin, natural abortions are about as reliable
as natural birth control methods.
I can't seem to let it go either. Something is just not right. Someone more sane pointed out that instead of using Bristol's current pregnancy as "proof" that trig couldn't possibly be hers why not just produce something from the hospital. regardless, the daughter has been displayed in public for the sake of her mother's own ambitions and left raising the child anyway as her mother campaigns! I mean the whole blanket on covering the belly while bristol held trig. did a 4 month old baby really need to be under Kleg and a loud crowd??
I don't think you're crazy, there are a lot of holes in this story. That said, I think that Sarah is Trig's mother and that she, most likely, is clinically INSANE.
I do not in any way, shape, or form support her or McCain.
BUT, just for accuracy, it IS possible for your water to break and for you not to be in active labor. So though her water broke, she very well could have not been having contractions, which would explain why no one noticed she was in labor and also why she had to be induced. (I had to be induced 12 hours after my water broke, though I was having mild contractions and pressure).
But why she took a 12+ hour trip in a premature situation with a special needs baby, well, only she can answer to that. And she's calling the kids "off limits," unless you want to talk about what a "hero" she is for having them in the first place.
Thank God I found this blog...
I have been obsessing over the Palin cover-up since the first time I heard the possibility that this poor down syndrome baby might actually belong to the daughter. Especially because I usually run from half-baked conspiracy or cover-up theories.
In all honesty, I grew up in a small town in the South where this sort of thing happened quite often, especially with families with major positions in the community and huge secrets to hide. There is something about the Palin's family overall affect that reeks of dysfunction steeped in lies and secrecy. I know this look all too well as for many years as a kid I was the gatekeeper to my own family's dysfunction (i.e. child and alcohol abuse. Therefore I share a weird sort of kinship with the Palin kids everytime I see them on television. This kinship is almost palpable.
In my opinion, the Palin's are not merely covering up and protecting their family but I truly do believe that there might also be something a bit more sinister than any of us a willing to admit at this point. Something about this family (including Palin's sister, former brother-in-law, etc) just seems a bit off center.
In the famous words of Judge Judy - "When something doesn't sound like the truth, it's usually a lie."
Cajun boy, please don't stop - you are not crazy and quite honestly there are many others sane people in this country that also possess this burning in our gut because we know someone is trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
Having your water break does not mean that you are going to deliver quickly, but it's INSANE to assume that you won't and hop a plane for an 8+ hour ride, and to whomever said she may very well have known she was safe to fly home, I say there is no way that she or anyone else can KNOW that. Labor and Delivery is not something that anyone can be certain of a timeframe on. Labor might not start on it's own after that, but it very well could start very fast.
And NO Dr. anywhere would have advised her to get on a plane without getting to a hospital to be checked out first. If a Dr. gave the nod for that and anything happened to the mother or baby, that Dr. would be wide open to a lawsuit.
And furthermore, why isn't she wearing pants in the photo with Levi's sister and the baby? KD
This has had me obsessing the past few days as well -- and I have 50 term papers to grade. (Probably some avoidance going on, as well.)
At any rate, I'd lay about 90% odds that Trig is Bristol's child -- and there is a logical explanation for how all of this happened. If you were an adamantly pro-life governor who suddenly discovered your teenage daughter was pregnant, you'd either be pushing her to marry or to put the child up for adoption. Apparently, her boyfriend didn't want kids, so marriage sounds like plan B. Given the 5 month long case of mono, I think that her putting the baby up for adoption was the original idea. They'd hide the girl away, she'd give birth and then the baby would disappear -- and no one would be the wiser.
Of course, it's very hard to find adoptive parents for a child with Down's Syndrome. If the baby showed markers for Down's at the second trimester ultrasound, suddenly this plan has hit the rocks. Even if you were pro-choice, abortion isn't really an option at this point. So what's left that avoids scandal?
At the 7 month point, not much. So they're desperate and the governor decides to fake the pregnancy. To be honest, I might have done the same thing. This is a special needs child who will have high medical bills and even if the couple marries, they won't have much in the way of insurance. And the Palin's aren't exactly super-wealthy. So, she holds a press conference to announce the pregnancy. She uses padding most of the time, but apparently forgot on occasion. And since she hadn't been showing at *all* prior to that point, she couldn't head straight to the full pregnancy pad anyway.
She thinks there is a month left to go when she heads to the speech, but gets a call the morning of the speech letting her know Bristol is in labor. And here's where I part company with her -- I'd have been on that plane back to my daughter -- screw the speech. But she stays, gives the speech, and then heads back to the hospital where her daughter is -- a place where they know how to keep family secrets. She didn't stop at the various hospitals along the way because they couldn't help her -- the baby wasn't with her. :-/
As for the current pregnancy, I doubt it exists -- but it's possible that Bristol wanted that baby to be her own and this is her way of compensating. (You can get pregnant a month after birth -- very easily -- especially if not breast feeding.) Or we may see a convenient miscarriage... or perhaps a hush-hush adoption?
The look in Bristol's eyes when she's holding that child is further evidence. That's *her* baby.
Does this matter? Yes. And hopefully someone in the MSM will realize what it says about Palin -- you don't expose your child and grandchild to this sort of humiliation if you can avoid it. And it could easily have been avoided -- "no thank you, I have too many family responsibilities to be VP right now, but thank you, Senator McCain." :-/
Cajun Boy,
I found your site from Gawker and I just want to let you know that you did not reveal anything that most people aren't already suspecting. I'm watching the convention right now and something about the whole situation is just weird and suspicous. You're right on and I thank you for raising questions that many are afraid to pose. Worse things have happened...GREAT WORK!!!
I guiltily admit I'm very interested in this rumour. There's just something very weird about the whole thing. Found this blog doing a google search for 'Palin + pregnant'
I'm a glutton for punishment and am watching Palin's acceptance speech (It's kind of a strange one. Feels more like a thank-you speech for winning an Oscar instead of one for accepting the VP nod)
I really am watching because I wanted to see Bristol and her fiance...She does look pregnant....but, not ever being pregnant myself, do breasts get that big at 5 months?! I thought that didn't happen until closer to 8-9 months...
Stand your ground. Something isn't right about this situation and I admire you for not ignoring your rational thoughts. Thank you for bringing your research to the attention of your readers.
This Palin grandmother rumor is very compelling. Can they really keep this covered up? I do hope the news media assigns the best of the best investigative reporters to this story.
But on another topic... I too am an ex-Republican. I voted for Reagan and Bush Sr. I drew the line when the evangelical movement took over the Republican party, and voted against Dubya twice. I see this Palin nomination as another example of proof that the RNC is now controlled by the evangelicals. Cheney had a mission to take over Iraq. Palin too has a mission. It doesn't take much research to discover what her mission is. Readers, please do the research.
If you believe in separation of church and state, then McCain/Palin is not your ticket. If you don't, then I sincerely hope you are in the minority.
Having been a staunch Republican, I find myself as being a Republican In Name Only. I cannot reward this new Republican party with my vote or contributions any more.
Trig = neat and trim in appearance
Girt = to put a belt or girdle around
Trig is a semi-PALINdrome.
Have fun.
thank you, thank you, thank you! i have been obsessed with this whole situation, and i cannot figure out why. i NEVER care about politician's personal lives because i think it's none of our business. i try really, really hard to hold the same standards for men as i do women, and men would (almost) never be judged by how fit they are as parents. all that being said, i have loathed this woman unfathomably since she came onto the scene a whole week ago. i have spent countless hours combing the internet to find other people who find this as insanely compelling as i do. seriously, every 12-24 hours since she was announced, there's been a new scandal (most recently: dairy farms and palin's possible affair), but i cannot get away from this one, possibly irrelevant scandal.
my first thought, when i heard the suspicious circumstances of her texas speech and flight was that she was pretending to be the mom and that bristol was actually still recovering from her baby weight. (most women, immediately after giving birth, look about 5 months pregnant. maybe bristol just hasn't been losing any since then and is faking being pregnant now.) my second thought, when palin didn't release her medical records was that she's had an abortion that would destroy her credibility in a way that, somehow, the rest of this hasn't. and my third thought was that she couldn't abort her special needs child but she could potentially let it die by taking the shittiest care of it ever. doctors don't let you fly in the 8th and 9th months for a reason. there's not really an increased chance of miscarriage so much as that air pressure can cause the baby to deliver earlier than planned. with presumably no medical facilities (since she told no one about her pregnancy), she could very easily have delivered a premature baby that would have had a lot of difficulties even just being born in a hospital on schedule. and there's a lot of talk about her calling her (family abuse) doctor after her water broke (or whatever happened), but what about before? how did she get to texas in the first place without anyone trying to stop her?
man, i hate having these terrible thoughts, but i hate even more the possibility that someone who clearly has very little respect for medicine, family, or safety could possibly be in a position to regulate my or my children's needs for those same things.
This piece is phenomenal. please, please, PLEASE do not stop digging. I too was looking at everything about this over the labor day weekend, and I was totally blown away by how I looked at this myspace profile of levi's sister and then literally 30 minutes later it was made private. It's great that you got the pics off of it! Keep digging, this needs to be aired out!
I agree that there is something up with this story. But I think you need to start at the end and work backwards to see what's going on.
Assuming the child has Down Syndrome (we're assuming Down Syndrome since that is the official story), then Sarah Palin is probably the more likely candidate for the mother. The odds of a teenage girl having a Down Syndrome baby are small but present. Just using the google shows that the odds are about 1:1,500 for women at age 20. The odds are 1:50 at age 43.
A few scenarios:
1) Baby is Sarah's but conceived as part of an affair with husband Todd's business partner. This could still explain the special needs and would explain the cover up. In fact the business partner is seeking to keep his divorce case records closed. People are already asking about that.
2) Baby is Bristol's and conceived as part of inappropriate relationship with family member. This would also explain the cover up and the issue of the child being born with special needs.
3) Baby is Bristol's conceived by someone but was but injured in that auto accident she had. Not sure how severe it was or if an accident like that could cause developmental issues with the baby. Maybe it was that one in a million shot?
The timeline is very important here and people have alluded to the fact that it was Bristol and not Sarah who delivered the baby in mid April. If Bristol is pregnant again, then she'd be about 4 months along -- assuming a one month down time from childbirth to conception -- and it seems like she could be from the recent pictures floating around.
There are easy ways to simulate pregnancy and I'm sure Sarah could have easily gotten a "pregnancy suit" or "empathy belly" to simulate the pregnancy. The other oddities to this story include the cross country plane flight and Bristol's 5 month absence from school. It's not out of the realm of possibility for Sarah to have gotten a call from Bristol saying she was in labor. Also, there was a minor auto accident that Bristol was involved in and that could be a contributer to this as well. If Bristol is indeed pregnant this time, and I think she probably is, it looks like Levi really is the father. Can't believe he'd be complicit in this if he wasn't.
So, that's my take.
How tall is Sarah Palen? I know one thing, the shorter you are, the bigger you get when you're pregnant, the baby simply has no room to go except out, not up. I compared myself 5'3 at 5 months to a friend at the same stage that was 5'10 and you could barely tell she was pregnant but I was a house. I don't think Sarah Palen is all that tall...she should be a barn at that stage of her 'pregnancy'. The recent pics of Bristol show a big gut, not necessarily due to a current pregnancy but probably due to just giving birth. A doctor told me it took 9 months to get out of shape so it'll take at least 9 months to get back into shape, thus the belly on Bristol. She's not pregnant and I guarantee you she'll 'loose the baby' very shortly...what a crock...
Cajun Boy, Keep going. Somewhere in this conversation I saw the following:
"Wow, Bristol has some mammoth set on her, no? Does a pregnant woman normally have breasts that large in the fifth month?"
HINT: Those are not the breasts of a first time pregnant teen. Those are the breasts of a nursing mother!!
Assuming that there is a coverup and Sarah is not Trig's mother, there is nothing magical about April 17-18 which is the announced birth days of Trig. Trig could have been born a few days earlier. However, the Texas energy speech was a BIG DEAL for Sarah. SHE HAD TO GO AND GIVE THAT SPEECH! However if Trig was born to Bristol on April 15, for example, Sarah, as a "responsible mom" couldn't have claimed to give birth on April 15 and then flown to Texas 2 days later. Thus, she had to get back to Alaska as soon as possible after Trig's real birthday, and the earliest birth day was April 18. Hence the water breaking story and the rushed flight back. Since there has been no record made public, who knows the real date of birth? An earlier date could make it easier for Bristol to be pregnant again.
After reading this, and lots of other Palin-related stuff, I'm going to apply Occam's Razor and say that the simplest explanation is: Trig is Palin's, and she tried everything she could to lose the baby without having an abortion.
As for where Bristol disappeared to for 4 months, I have an alternate theory: rehab.
Nothing to go on there, just seems like the simplest, least-complex explanation. And, just looking at her, and her boyfriend, and her boyfriend's sister, I'm seeing an Alaskan Britney Spears/Amy Winehouse trainwreck.
Family values, indeed. Those poor kids.
goatchowder - you're confusing me! Occam's Razor to explain the pregnancy, but then you decide Bristol was in rehab during her school absence!
Just do the math, kid! I still can't believe we can't get better information about the start and end dates, but it goes to figure that they'd remove her during the last trimester of her pregnancy, when she begins to show the most. And if that absence covers the date of Trig's birth, GAME OVER!
I'm wondering if some of the numerous traffic incidents we're hearing about may have been BRISTOL'S attempts at an abortion!
This is a strange story.
It's good to see so many people are researching it.
And strange to see so much of the video/photo documentation seems to be "disappearing"
First time I gave birth, there were almost exactly 12 hours between the water breaking and the actual contractions set in. So for me, that part is not implausible. But no way would any doctor have let me travel anywhere. I was sent straight to the hospital, and had to wait there.
And my child was not a special needs child. I was not 44.
Something is not right.
are we sure the baby has Down's Syndrome and not fetal alcohol syndrome?
Has baby Trig been documented with Down's Syndrome? I doubt it. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is more likely. Sarah's such a good mom.
I think this is your newest novel...abeit enlarged by birth functions and folksy wisdom. There is at its heart a "real" american tragedy. It has all the qualities of your profile. Encompassing what it means to be a post-modern hero in a technological advanced modern American society fighting back big brother and its censorship of true ideals. Its also the introduction to the new civic center of the world...blogging
The scope can be as narrow as Sarah Palin or as wide as a Pregnant Bristol:)...this could be HUGE!...it could also be a blog book!
I just hope it grants us readers hope, hope that the path ahead is no longer obscurred by obsticles not of our design. That this truely was a pivital moment in Human History...welcome to the new world...:)...can you breathe the fresh air again?...are you ready to make the future happen...it could define us...usiing VooDoo Trickery ofCoarse...
I'm blabbing of coarse, but fuckit, everyone else did...
And now you all know why she won't release her medical records. They will show things she has lied about and does not want known before the election.

I don't think any of your questions are out of line but I had a few thoughts while reading because it is pretty entertaining.
1. I think you have to discount how she looked during her pregnancy. If this really was her 5th child she would look very different as an active mother than as a "hockey mom" during her first pregnancy. At 7 months preg I was still wearing a size 6 and by the time I gave birth I was very visibly pregnant and had gained like 25 pounds in the last trimester. Also, my sister and I are the same height and were the same weight before we got pregnant and she looked like she was carrying triplets from her 5th month on. I hardly ever showed until right at the end.
2. If this was a huge coverup, wouldnt they go out of their way to make sure there were hospital records indicating she, not Bristol, birthed Trig?
3. Many people are very laid back about labor and she is obviously a workaholic so perhaps she didnt feel the need to jump on a plane or give birth in Dallas, etc. If she has done it 4 times already she also prob did not feel the need to be in a neo-natal unit or have an OB deliver the baby. A high risk pregnancy does not equal a hgh risk delivery.
4. My problem with her is that most people of her religious conviction would absolutely object to the genetic testing. I am a devout Catholic and refused all testing due to potential harm to my child. I am very shocked that she allowed that, despite that she is of age to carry a DS baby.
5. Maybe we should look at what info IS out there, rather than making assumptions about what's not.
About that "desire to protect her children"...
I believe the ruse could have gotten started as a way to protect Bristol's reputation. But as others have pointed out, if somebody questions a child's maternity, maternity is the easiest thing in the world to prove, with photographs or records. Instead Palin opts to throw her daughter and her (purported) deepest secret onto a world stage, by way of "proof"? This is not "protecting your children. This is protecting political ambition at all costs, and it is despicable.
I want Obama to win and I honestly feel like I'll throw up if McCain/Palin win. Ugh.
That being said, I think Trig is Palin's baby. The odds of a woman her age conceiving a child with Downs compared to that of a child Bristol's age are so much higher. There are no doubt some RIDICULOUS aspects to this story, not the least of which is the labor timeline. So, I agree that something is up but I think Palin was pregnant (even the vimeo video she looks heftier, and sorts waddles too!)
Cajun Boy, this is fascinating. I wanted to sweep my doubts under the rug, but re-reading the details surrounding the birth makes me just too suspicious.
I had a baby this year, and I can remember very clearly the moment when my water broke. Yes, there was at least an hour during which I felt well enough to shower and get ready to go to the hospital, but I simply cannot imagine giving a speech while leaking amniotic fluid, much less having the patience to wait through airport security to ultimately give birth some 18 hours later... also: if this is Palin's fifth child, how is it even possible that the labor lasted so long? Aren't subsequent deliveries supposed to occur much more rapidly? I am stunned by this story. I don't see how it can be possible for her to have achieved this miraculous feat. Perhaps she's simply a better woman than I.
Thank you, Cajun Boy, for adding the voice of common sense and sanity to this story of a faked pregnancy of a VP candidate - determined to win at all costs!
