Shaq's gangsta-rificly phat party bus
At some point during the course of Virginia Tech being sodomized by LSU on Saturday night, ESPN's cameras cut away from the action on the field to catch a glimpse of Shaquille O'Neal in one of Tiger Stadium's luxury boxes cheering his alma mater to go harder, faster and deeper on the Hokies. My friend Colleen Kane, aka Cokane, of the blog "BaRou is the New Brooklyn," was an attendant of the game and took this picture of Shaq's party bus parked outside of the stadium. I guess that it's safe to assume that Shaq, like many young black men, is an unabashed fan of gangster films like The Godfather, Scarface, The Sopranos and Goodfellas. I wonder if any "once you go Shaq you never go back" action went down in there on Saturday?

Colleen's summary of her first LSU football Saturday in Baton Rouge is quite hilarious. It's always interesting to get an outsider's perspective on the cult of college football in the South. You should check out her full account of the day, aptly titled "Shock and Awe", when and if you have a minute.
As for the game itself....WOW...I am in a state of shock and awe over it myself. The LSU sports blog "And the Valley Shook" pretty much summed up exactly how I feel in their Sunday wrap-up of the game. They also provide some links to what others are saying about the Tiger's complete dismantling of the Hokies on Saturday night.

I was at the game on Saturday and saw Shaq and his posse. They were seemed cool and down to earth. Shaq was out and about mingling amongst the common people. Funny shit.
That RV is hi-fucking-larious! And LSU was quite impressive in that win!
Caj dont deny that you dont have the mural on Shaq's RV now painted across your living room wall
If the Shaqmobile is rockin'...
That Shaqmobile is a hoot and a holler. The Gangsta culture can have Scarface, but give me the Godfather films and the greatest of all gangster pictures, GoodFellas. You're a funny guy . . .
@ponderings...were you too drunk to remember that night baby? it was my bedroom wall that had the shaq mural!
@randy...agreed. completely.
What a great game by LSU. That was, without a doubt, the most impressive performance by a college team that I have ever seen in person. The crowd and the atmosphere were amazing. As humid as it was in Tiger Stadium Saturday night, I had a blast. My wife (VT alum) was not as thrilled as I was though.
LSU alums, students, and fans really need to treasure this team. Performances like Saturday are the exception rather than the rule.
what a great great game!!!! LSU is the greatest team ever!!!! we will be tailgating this weekend with our fellow tiger fans. wanna come? i will toast a beer to you!
Isn't it a conflict of interest for a guy who spends his off-season participating in S.W.A.T. raids to pay homage criminals on the side of his RV?
Mad props for the Superman logo, however.
I thought black stereotypes were eating chicken and getting 20” rims on their cars. Now it’s murals of Scarface on their party buses? Actually I’m surprised his bus didn’t have “spinners”…
MsP
PS- Cajun Boy did I mention you re a racist?
@james...so envious. great time to be in tiger stadium.
@tweeboowee...stop teasing me!
@c. davis...why yes it is! very good point my friend. a little hypocricy there eh?!
@ms. puddin...it's been about 2 weeks since someone called me a racist. thanks for filling that quota(no pun intended)

i'd be quite pleased if shaq were to park his bus at an OU (oklahoma) tailgating fest. we're lucky if toby keith shows up.
